Some styles of wood siding include large panels or boards made of plywood or hardboard, which is constructed of heat processed wood pulp pressed into sheets. Board siding is available in many types of wood and milled in a variety of patterns. It can be installed vertically, horizontally or even diagonally.
Hardboard siding comes in an even wider variety of styles, ranging from stucco to embossed sheets that resemble shingles. Wood must be thoroughly painted and with regular maintenance, should last for many years.
