Siding Services
We take pride in being able to restore any home or building to its original beauty. Re-siding is one of the easiest ways to cosmetically improve the look of any home or building. At the same time, it is also a way of protecting from insects, wind and hail, and even fire damage. Today there are many new advances in siding. You can find siding that comes with 50 year transferable warranties, and companies that stand behind those warranties.
We are most proud that we do all aspects of the job ourselves. New siding can enhance the appearance and value of any building. Some of the more popular types of siding that we work with are:
-
Wood Siding
Some of the many forms of wood siding include large panels or boards made of plywood or hardboard, which is constructed of heat processed wood pulp pressed into sheets. Board siding is available in many types of wood and milled in a variety of patterns. It can be installed vertically, horizontally or even diagonally. Hardboard siding comes in an even wider variety of styles, ranging from stucco to embossed sheets that resemble shingles. Wood should be thoroughly painted and with regular maintenance, should last many years.
-
Hardiplank Siding
Hardiplank Siding is a durable and attractive alternative to traditional wood, composite siding or stucco. It combines the look and warmth of wood with the durability of fiber-cement. It resists damage from extended exposure to humidity, rain and termites. Hardiplank comes in a variety of sizes and textures to give you the look you want.
-
Stucco
Stucco is one of the most durable sidings available. It is made of a cementaceous mixture that is usually applied over concrete, masonry block or brick. The dramatic textures and accents that are possible with stucco make it very popular. It is applied in three separate coats; while applying the final exterior layer, a pigment can be added to reach the desired final color, or it can be painted when dry.

Tips to maintaining siding:
- Inspect siding for damage in the spring and autumn, looking for obvious problems, such as warped, missing or damaged boards, holes in stucco, crumbling mortar, cracks, and defective paint. Don't ignore the less obvious interior problems like dry rot and termite damage, which can be devastating to the building.
- Keep siding clean and in good shape. Hose it down and brush it with a carwash brush attached to a hose.
- Repair any caulking and paint or stain any areas that are chipped or peeling.
- Wood siding is especially vulnerable to rot when the finish deteriorates.
- Have repainted regularly.
