Summary:
Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in mixing paint, preparing surface of object to be painted, and by painting the object, by performing the following duties: Reviewing the progress, quality, and timeliness of the job assigned to him. Meets periodically with the customer or customer's representative and reviews job status. Maintains health and safety guidelines, holding tailgate meetings with the different workers assigned to his job.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reads work order or receives instructions from supervisor or homeowner regarding painting. Examines workplace for scale, cracks, shade variances or unpainted areas. Reviews thickness and viscosity of paint applied to objects by job personal. Inspects painted surfaces for paint coverage, flow of paint, and color quality. Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment. Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations. Interprets specifications and job orders to workers, and assigns duties. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew. Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems. Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals. Maintains time and production records. Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials. Performs activities of workers supervised.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly supervises 2-10 employees in the Paint Crew. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience as a Journeyman Painter with a proven track record of success required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Have the ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILL:
Have the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Have the ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY:
Have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, VEHICLES:
Driver License, registered vehicle with insurance for transportation of people and equip to and from jobs.

Have the ability to adapt and learn new responsibilities.
